unitymedia and its cooperation partners gave the starting signal for the project at a press conference, with teamtischer developing a media-effective presentation for the PR event. In the center was an acrylic glass installation in which the Bochum skyline was engraved as a network. By symbolically connecting an outsize, luminous fiber-optic cable, unitymedia boss Lutz Schüler, NRW digital minister Prof. Andreas Pinkwart, Bochum's mayor Thomas Eiskirch, and Stadtwerke municipal utilities spokesman Dietmar Spohn lit up the skyline.
This symbol marked the move into the gigabit era. Following this, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, and Cologne were connected to the fast internet, which was widely covered by the local press in each case. Our project team surpassed itself once again with the intricate production of the acrylic skyline for each city.
